AICTP is happy to announce the addition of two new members to our team, Olivia Mabee and Patrick Maravelias, for the respective positions of Administrative Assistant and Assistant Editor-In-Chief.
Olivia is graduating this month with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Strategic Communications from Washington State University. She brings an extensive background in project management, marketing and customer support. Her favorite things are exploring Disneyland and following her brother’s college baseball career. She is a vegetarian foodie, a huge Tik-Tok user and loves her American Bully “Jack” who she shares with her fiancé Andrew.
Patrick just moved to the San Diego area from Humboldt County, where he worked in cannabis production after working between Redding and Eureka at two different TV news stations. He enjoys surfing, rock climbing and Kurt Vonnegut books. He studied Journalism at Humboldt State University and has been writing for fun since he was a child.
Olivia will be working mostly in member relations while Patrick will be editing and overseeing all the content put out by our team, so be on the lookout for e-mails from our new team members.
Please join us in welcoming Patrick and Olivia to the team. The following is a brief Q&A to help you get to know them a bit better.
When are you the happiest?
Olivia: I am happiest when I am surrounded by family and friends.
Patrick: There are two times where I am the happiest. The first is when I am surfing, the second is when I’m sitting in the shade on a hot day with a good book.
What is your favorite place you have traveled to?
Olivia: My fiancé and I went on a cruise to Ensenada, Mexico a few years ago. The cruise was so much fun, and Mexico is beautiful!
Patrick: Humboldt County. I went there for a weekend trip and stayed for seven years. The redwood trees are beautiful, and the beaches are all untouched.
What is your favorite season and why?
Olivia: I love Fall and everything about it. I especially love Fall for the pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin scented candles, pumpkin patches, and Halloween!
Patrick: I like the late summer/early Fall the most. When it is still sunny during the day, but it is chilly in the mornings and evenings and you can start enjoying hot drinks again.
What is your favorite restaurant?
Olivia: I have quite a few, actually! Rubio’s, Chipotle, La Moon Thai Eatery, any taco shop in San Diego, and Atypical Waffle. Though, I may be a little biased with Atypical Waffle because my fiancé is the manager there, but the waffles are seriously delicious!
Patrick: Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles is hands-down the pinnacle of breakfast cuisine. I would highly recommend anyone driving through Los Angeles stop by one of their locations. If you have never combined fried chicken with waffles in the same meal may I also recommend you attend to that posthaste.
